jean picton Born in 1934, joined a circus at the age of 14, and began a theatrical career. From this modest beginning by the 1950’s having toured most variety theatres in the U.K. became one of the famous Windmill Girls at the Windmill Theatre in the West End of London, working with such greats as Harry Secombe and Bruce Forsyth. In 1970 spent some time in the U.S.A. and was a regular on the Joey Adams TV show Coast to Coast”.   1980 A regular in TV   “Hi de Hi” and “East Enders”. 1990 Started painting seriously.

1994 Central  St Martins London design diploma.
1995 West Hertfordshire College of Art & Design, Callowland Campus, access in art & design                              
1996 West Hertfordshire College of Art & Design, Callowland Campus, City & Guilds Ceramic Part 1& 2    
1997 University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, Art & Design Faculty, began degree course, part- time B.A. hons Fine Art.
1998 Started “ART MENORCA”, organizing small group painting holidays on the Mediterranean Island of Menorca, tutoring in water colour and acrylic techniques.
2002 Graduated from University of Hertfordshire Batchelor of Art Honours degree in fine art.
2003 Invited to become a Fellow of The Digswell Art Trust.
